Warm Engine Idle........

Think I have a problem with the idle, with engine warm and the Tranny in neutral, the RPM first stays at about 900 then after a few secs, drops to about 600 and runs real rough, really shaking the car. After a few more seconds the idle goes back up to 900 again and the process keeps repeating itself. NO check engine light on or anything. Anyone else have this problem and what RPM does your base VIBE with the manual 5speed idle at???

I haven't really noticed that behavior with mine. Did you by chance have the defroster on (which uses the a.c. compresser)? Does it do it all the time, or just once and a while?

NO the defroster nor the AC wasnt on, it only started doing this a few days ago and the only reason I noticed is that the engine runs really rough. Prior to that I never really paid attention to what it idles at

Bad gas? You may have a bad tank of gas. Give it a few tanks before going to the dealer.
