I may be one of the only ones, but I liked it when the Pontiac's had the cladding on them. (Another reason why I like my Vibe) I can't tell you the number of times that the cladding has protected my Montana or previously my Grand Am from the occasional parking lot ding. I realize a lot of automotive writers didn't like it, but that was a big plus for me. The G6 looks sharp, but on first glance it looks like a Dodge Stratus to me with a Pontiac nose on it.

You definitely have a point...but there's a fine line between beneficial and detrimental when it comes to cladding. My 92 GA was detrimental. Thick, heavy plastic that constantly would come off the door. Was a disaster.Vibe is most definitely beneficial. If you don't wax it.

Without claddings on the Pontiacs all you get is an Oldsmobile. Grand Am minus claddings = Alero, etc...

That's not completely true. The headlights and taillights are distinctly different on both cars as are the hoods, grilles, and lower body kits. My mom has a '99 Alero and my stepsister has a '00 Grand Am. When the two cars are sitting in the driveway side by side, they really don't look that similar.

After seeing the G6 in Motor Trend, I am a little concerned about how the Vibe is going to do in sales. It seems the G6 is going to be in the same price range.

I think it seems to have almost a Honda Accord look to it.
