Well like the title says FINALLY!!Thanks to everyone here at genvibe that offered opinions and advice for my HU purchase. I have decided to go with the Sony Xplod. It is a fantastic MP3 player and has all the features I wanted. As you can see by the pics ( sorry if some are blurry ) the radio really blends in nicely with the car interior. It took us about 30 minutes to install everything, and it went nice and smooth. Next mod are the stock speakers, bye bye!

That looks great Arcs! Very suiting for the Vibe in its color scheme and design - futuristic looking. Sorry I should have been clearer, The Vibe page just mentions a CD player, no MP3.Wow, that's pretty sweet for the Sunfire! Do you have any pics of your radio threekrows? How much was it for the MP3 player?

Quote, originally posted by trdvibe »yeah, i thot they were adding that to the line up for the hu now. ticks me off really.I think the stereos with the MP3 feature are slowly being integrated into the line...I think they went with the sunfire first because more buyers of that would be interested in the mp3 capabilities than, say, bonneville buyers.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
No problem! Ask away Yes they are burned on CD as text files, you can literally burn 100s of songs on one CD for hours of enjoyment! It is a worthwhile investment if you love listening to music while you drive

Damn, your the man Arcs!!! Like Nick said, suiting for the Vibe in its color scheme and design. I'll keep that HU in mind if I replace the factory unit.

Thank you! The installers kept telling us that it was a very complicated procedure but in reality it took us 30 minutes to install it. It was quite easy even for me who has 0 experience in installing radios!

As you saw..you pop off the cover around the radio, unscrew it..screw in the kit..put the cage in..and the wiring takes seconds. The Vibe and the Matrix are easy...don't think it's that way for everything... almost every other car is a pain in the izzass..

Trust me I remember my 96 Cavalier !!! Had to take off half the dashboard to install a radio. The Vibe was real nice and the install clean. Hopefully the stock speakers will be the same thing

Awsome look there Sam, you ever think of installing a red light in that tray for a lighting effect at night? Set it back so you can't directly see the red tube but will see the glow? I did something like that with my 96 Sunfire GT when I removed the stock radio and put in a Pioneer that I had. Me being the wiring god that I am used a cig lighter dark light hehe... Still looked really good and does something with that open space. The Sunfire was easy to change, two screws held in the dash portion around it, and all I had to do was buy the wiring kit to plug into the stock radio's wire harness and then into my Pioneer. Screwed in the spacer with the radio and put the cover back on. Nice and easy. Right now though I'm content with the stock 6 cd changer radio in my Vibe.

Nice head unit, I almost had to laugh when I saw it ^^(In a good way, not in a bad way )(p.s., my pic is even blurrier, but my Vibe is in the shop until tomorrow morning, so I can't take another one at the time >

Hey Rob it's been too long The radio is awesome! It really pumps out a lot of power and the sound is great considering I still have the stock speakers. No complaints here
