Trying to get a new vibe.

Hi all,I can see the frustration of trying to get a vibe in Canada. I went to a dealer to try and get a vibe. All I want is a Neptune vibe with:AutomaticSafety & Security PackagePower Package My dealer had about 15 vibes but not one with what I wanted. As it turns out there is only one vibe in Southern Ontario that matches this critera. The vibe is in Toronto but the dealer there won't trade it with the dealer here in Kingston. My dealer also checked for a Shadow vibe with these options. Not a single one in Southern Ontario. My dealer said that if I wanted these options in one of the two colours I want, I would have to order one. It would take at least 4 months to recieve it. It looks as though I will have to wait or get a colour I really don't want. Oh well.Peace,renik

Sounds familiar!! LOL. I waited 4 months too, and thats when I ordered in October 2002. Glad to see the wait isn't getting further behind I guess.Mine was abyss, automatic trans, and power group. I think the base models are the ones in higher demand. There were a couple AWD and GT models I could choose from with those options.I am glad I waited though. Luckily, I could rely on my old car until then. Some people do not have that convenience, and I feel for them.Check out the thread at http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=692to see the poll on how many people got their vibe on time, and who had to wait. It is a tad dated, but still probably very accurate.

Are you dealing with Condies in Kingston? They have that many Vibes on their lot!? Wow! Everytime I drive by there I only see about 3. My parents got both of their vehicles from Condies. I had to change the colour I wanted. I had originally went to get a Salsa with the sports package, safety package, power package, automatic. Well while I was picking out the options I wanted on my vibe, a guy cancelled his order for the exact same car I wanted except it was Satellite. His was due at the dealers in about a month so I changed my mind on the colour and went with the cancelled order so I wouldn't have to wait 5 months.Its great to see another Kingstonian on here, by the way! I'm from Kingston originally (up until 1999 when I moved to Ottawa).

Yeah I'm dealing with Condies. I should say that Condies had 15 vibes last week but have less than 10 now. There are only 2 vibes there with the options I want but they are both Frosty white. That is the last colour that I would want. It seems as though the Safety & Security package is pretty rare. I did a search on GMCanada and of the 25 vibes in the area only 5 have the saftey & security package. Of the 5, 3 are standard and the 2 frosty ones at Condies. Looks as though I will have to wait a while longer. I was born and raised here in Kingston and went to school in Ottawa for 4 years.Peace,renik

Good luck getting what you want! I had to wait for ever to get my Vibe and my first color pick was Shadow which was a no go here in Quebec so I settled for my Neptune, as for your options.....might have to wait longer The Matrix on the other hand were much easier to find and configure....but I really wanted the Vibe...good things come to those who wait I guess....Welcome aboard!

I tried that also but was informed by many dealers that they don't really update that information frequently...best thing to do is call around....then find a good dealership and have them do the calling and the dealing.....my Vibe actually came from Ontario Have them look into Quebec and make a deal

Good luck with your Vibe search! Frosty white is also the last colour I would want. My top choices were Salsa, Neptune and Shadow... but I ended up with Satellite and its grown on me.

Looks like Vibe is getting more scarce...Matrix was hard to get ( not that I wanted to buy one ) but even wanting to test drive one was hard enough. I bought one of the last two Vibes from my dealer ( the other was a GT ), I am overall very happy with my Vibe but there are a couple of options that I'd like to have too.My Vibe came with Safety & Security package and I had no idea it was rare until lately. hehe.Good luck with your Vibe hunt

Hi all,Well it happened a lot sooner than I expected. I finally bought a vibe!!! My dealer spent most of the day today trying to get me a vibe with the options I wanted. He found a vibe that was in transit to Toronto. He was able to get it for me after trying to get numerous other ones over the past week. It should be delivered here by next week.What I got is a Shadow vibe with:AutomaticSafety & SecurityPowerAluminum WheelsCargo NetI got the $750 ring in to win, $1000 grad and $513 GM Visa discounts. Wasnt able to get the dealer to come down in price though. Overall, I'm extremely happy about getting a vibe!!!
