Cold Idle Speed...

Post by sevenofnine »

Seems rather high to me...2003 base Vibe with five speed manual. Been in the 20's the last few days here in Ohio. Moved the wifes Vibe and it idles about 1500-2000 rpm cold. Lasts just a few minutes, but that seems rather high. That is with trans in neutral and clutch in or out....What are the rest of you experiencing

Sounds about right to me.Cold is in that area, warm should drop to below 1000.

It is the normal idle speed for the Vibe...my friend has a 2003 Corolla and it is the same thing...nothing to worry about.

Normal. Even my old Ford Probe would idle high for the first couple of minutes when it was starting up cold. It's just trying to get everything flowing and get warmed up..
