New tires

Post by shibaman »

I just got new tires on my Vibe. 205-55-ZR16 Falkin 451 from America's tire store. Great tire for the $. Very sticky! They gave me $25 ea. for my old Contis.

I also highly recommend Firestone's Dayton Daytona H rated tires. I had them on my 626, and feel they were one of the best tire I have ever owned. By the way: we only got 29k on the original Continentals. Anybody else get worse mileage than that out of them?

I used my stock alloys. Maybe later I will get some Different 17" rims. I saw some Centerline forged on sale for $200 ea. Only 13 lbs! JEG'S high performance.

Shibaman! I can't believe I read this!...I havent' taken pics yet, but I just bought those!...I got the silver excels , with the 10 spokes....I bought the last set of that color and spokes, that fit our car....you can still get black , or the silver 6 spoke!...They are awsome.!! I had steelies on before, ...these look better inreal life than they do in the picture, and I weighed them too...and they really are just shy of 13lbs!....Also, with Jegs, there is no tax, and no shipping, just a flat $8.oo per order...and I also bough some lock nuts from them too!....I was going to buy the kuhmo estas from them too, but Instead , I bought some Han kook ventus k104 sports...215 50 17's from tires.com....and they are all on my car!....for forged wheels, I think that they are a great deal!

I can't believe they gave you $25 each for the Conti's, they aren't worth 25 cents. My fronts were 30% worn when I put on my snows at 5,000 km.

I had 12k mi. on my Contis but even with the hard driving they were almost like new. Most of the mi. were freeway.

How is the offset compaired to stock? Is $ 200 / rim a good price for a light wheel like that? I know that Centerline makes good products. My friends used their race wheels on Baha bugs. When are you going to post a pic?

When are you going to post a pic?I need some batteries for the camera, and doing all x-mas shopping, Ijust have not made the time....I will try to get pics up tommorow, as far as the off set, I cant tell what the diff is,....and as far as the price?i hav seen veloxes, racing hart, and volkes at a simalar weight of forged wheels run between $4-$500 per wheel ....so even the 300.oo per wheel is decent in comparison,...to get light forged wheels like this for 200.oo each I think is a pretty good deal, ....anyway, I am one happy customer so far, and because the lighter weight is being turned by the motor, you can feel the difference...

I highly recomend the Falkin 451 ZR tire. Great steering response and very, very sticky on dry or wet pavement. A HUGE improvement over the Contis.

Very well put, it's a shame that GM has a contract for such garbage, especially when the Goodyears seem to be so good.

I dont like black either...go to centerlines home page...to the photo gallery...I did...but after i ordered excels..I thought that the rpms looked even better on those cars...there are some civic si's in ther to represent wagons.......I dont think you will be dissapointed...they look great in person...and you have to weigh them too. mine were 13#'s...I talked to centerline, and the guy told me that the rpms weigh a little less!....but the silver has a glossy finish, and the center caps are pollished ,,,,so for being painted, they have a really nice finish....

Thanks, I went to the photo gallery and looked at the cars. You are right. They both look great on the cars. I think that I will be excited until the bill comes. Ha! Looking forward to seeing your pics. Have a merry Christmas and safe New Year.
