Fusion Paint Durability

Post by FusionVGT »

Are there any Fusion owners with paint problems? I've had mine for almost three months now, and while I've heard things smack the body I have no chips/scratches. I had Ziebart's acrylic paint protection put on the car when it was new, but I don't believe it would make that big of a difference.

We've had ours about 3 months also and drive a lot of dirt and gravel back roads. So far there is not a mark on the paint. Lousy paint is not just a problem on the Vibe, my 1999 GMC Sierra in Indigo Blue gets a scratch if you drag a piece of chinchilla fur across it!

It's good to hear you don't have a paint problem. I got to thinking about this because by virtue of where I live I get to see a lot of Pontiacs. Non-Fusion Vibes show the same scars that people here talk about. I believe all 04 Pontiacs except the GTO and Bonneville are available in Fusion, and every time I see one (Grand Prix, Grand Am, Sunfire) they look great. This all makes me wonder if it's the application or the paint itself that's causing the problem.

Mine is almost 2 months old, no problems yet. I guess we'll seeafter winter how well the paint holds up.

Good to hear tots. I don't expect to see the problems the other colors are having. I don't know if it's an 03/04 thing or a Fusion/non-Fusion thing, but time will tell.
