The moral of this story is: Freedom of Speech, Just watch what you say......... AHH Accessories Wireless News E-mail Story Print Story Eminem Says Tape Was Made As A Frustrated TeenBy Big Dee IrwinDate: 11/19/2003 12:00 PM At a press conference in New York yesterday, The Source Magazine unveiled a tape recording of Eminem freestyling, using racial slurs against African-Americans.The tape, which features a young Eminem rhyming over a beatbox and primitive drum machine, was recorded around 1993 according to a press release issued by the magazine. On the tape Eminem says: All the girls I like to bone have big butts/ No they don't, 'cause I don't like that n*gger sh*t/ I'm just here to make a bigger hit/Later on Eminem raps about a girlfriend he broke up with: I’lll get straight to the point/Black girls are b*tches, that’s why I’ma tell ya you better pull up your britches/Cause all that cash is making your (removed) drag from the boyfriend ya ganked and that’s pretty bad/I mean that’s pretty sad when ya dating a Black guy/And then you turn around a f*ck another big, Black guy now that’s pretty wrong, but you’re just ganking/But that’s okay because you need a godd*mn spanking/From me, the funky Eminem"Don't make this right now a double standard," Benzino said. "We gotta treat this the same way you treat Mike Tyson, like you treat Kobe Bryant, like you treat R. Kelly, like you treat O.J. Simpson."Eminem has accused The Source founder Dave Mays and his partner, Raymond “Benzino†Scott of pursuing a vendetta against him and the artists on his Shady Records, which include 50 Cent and G-Unit.“Ray Benzino, Dave Mays and The Source have had a vendetta against me, Shady Records and our artists for a long time," Eminem said in a statement. "The tape they played today was something I made out of anger, stupidity and frustration when I was a teenager. I'd just broken up with my girlfriend, who was African-American, and I reacted like the angry, stupid kid I was. I hope people will take it for the foolishness that it was, not for what somebody is trying to make it into today."Mays and Scott promised to continue pursue the issue, saying a CD of the recordings would be contained in their February issue. Eminem has been the hip hop news 9-11 style over the last couple of weeks or so. Some to most of you have heard about the first leaked recording where he reportedly said negative comments about black people and black women in general... On the heels of that tape that's created an uproar is a report on this one: Secret Service Contemplates Action Against EminemBy Clarence Burke Jr.Date: 12/7/2003 11:00 PM The United States Secret Service, assigned to protect the President of the United States, is considering action against Eminem, due to the lyrics of an unreleased song. On "We as Americans," the rapper recites the lines "F*ck money, I don't rap for dead presidents/I' de rather see the President dead."The pro gun song doesn't specifically mention President Bush, but the Secret Service told CNN they were taking the lyrics seriously."We are aware of the lyric and are in the process of determining what action, if any, will be taken," Secret Service spokesman John Gill said.Eminem's spokesman, Dennis Dennehy said that the song was unfinished and that is was either lost or stolen. Dennehy also said that he was not sure when of if the song would ever be released. The song appeared on the Internet last week with seven other unreleased Eminem tracks from an EP titled Straight From the Lab. How will these two events affect his carrer. Will this be one of those matters where if you live by the sword, you die by the sword?

damn right it's a good point! "I’m down for runnin’ up on them crackers in they city hall" that actually implies commiting the act!. way worse than saying i wish the president was dead, he didn't say "im down for killing the president"put me on his legal team, we'll get him through this hypocracy!

One thing you forgot to mention......Benzino (Em's attacker) actually had a white rapper named The Boston Strangla. Benzino needed an edge so he made the rapper out to be skin headish...... So you can imagine the lyricsHis carrer didn't last long
I think you guys are right on this one. Why the big witchhunt on eminem right now? I know he's always contorvesial, but he does nothing really different from other rappers out there. So what's everyone all on his case for? For these lyrics? That's so stupid. There are real criminals out there killing people, selling drugs to kids, and other horrible stuff, why don't they go after them instead of crucifying some guy because of what he said a decade ago as a kid?

Eminem is a master at playing contravercy for his benefit. Every time there is sh** about him in the news, he gets richer and richer. For rappers this kind of stuff is free advertising. A while back he was banned from playing in Toronto and he became an instant hero to all the kids in Canada. I like his style and I don't see any harm in his lyrics, everybody is doing it. This the real world and it is full of racists. we better get used to it because it is not going to change.
the whole thing in a nutshell is the fact that he is white. middle american white parents are now exposed to rap lyrics and are raising hell. why these people are buying their 12 yr olds eminem cd's, i'll never know. go to a lyric website and look up em's song "white america", he explains a lot.

"Middle American White Kids" make and have made up for 70%-75% of total Hip Hop Sales it's been going on for at least 10 years now.. They have been exposed to this for while but not at this scale. I also think the media is helping out in the cause of so much expose because he is white.... There are and were just as many Black emcees that are and were just as good if not better than Eminem. The Beasties never got this much love!
i don't believe the beasties had much talent, i mean come on, "girls"? that song blew!lyrically, i believe em to be the best ever. who can match his vocab and word usage? who else refrains from recycling their lyrics like he does. he's one of the only rappers left who actually has a point behind his tracks, not just gangsta bling bling garbage that rhymes.

The Beasties back then were the only cats I knew that began to use a band instead of a beat machine or DJ (precursor The Roots). Not only did they keep that same ol Beasties good feel they also showed off their musical skills with timeless instrumentals on both CD's. And I think Pass The Mic made up for Girls. As far as Eminem being the only rapper with point, you need to join the underground movement were the competition is a lot more fierce than it is in the candy/pop/bling word. You'll see a lot of new faces like Larry Cheeba, and a lot of old ones like KRS-ONE and Big Daddy Kane... Trust me you would change your mind, not to say Em isn't a great emcee, he's just not the "greatest emcee".
i had to admit, sabotage was freaking awesome!! there isn't much of an underground scene around here, unless you want to go to some club where you wouldn't be welcome.

I'll tell ya I've only been on the internet "hard" for about a year and I've gotten so much good underground out of it. A 1/3 of my living room floor is covered in CD's I ran out of room in my racks......Hiphopsite.com in Las Vegas is a good place to start. They have just about everything that's still in print plus they add goodies for CD's you purchased that the big chain music stores dont give you.
