FM Modulator CD changer--sound good or bad?

Post by splashd »

I was looking for the least intrusive upgrade for my Vibe. DO the remote changers that use FM modulators sound very good? Better than normal FM?

Welcome to genvibe, and congratulations on the new Vibe! At some point let us know what kind you got, what options/color/etc, what made you pick a Vibe, all that good stuff.I can't answer the FM modulator question, but there are folks here that are using them (ipod, XM, etc) and can give you some "feedback" on them.

i install changer all the time, none yet in the vibe however. But based upon the dozons of cars that i have done RF changers in, i havent had a single problem with them. Its not gonna be CD quality due to the fact that its going through FM, but its still nice. One thing to make sure of is that you pick a station that is away from clear receving stations of FM. Out here we have a 88.1 station, so we program the modulator to 88.5...If you have any other questions just post them

CD changer with FM modulator will give you the same sound quality as any FM. It can be compared at a good radio station. But it will not be as clear as a real CD player.
