Got "the call" today.Bright and early tomorrow morning I take Emily down to the shop. They said they hope they can have it done by TG.Crossing my fingers...On a side note, it's scary how much rust can form in such a short time. Here's a shot of that same fender, 2-3 weeks after the impact. It's already excessively rusted where the paint came off.Today's lesson: make sure you address any paint chip issues with touch-up paint or other protectant as soon as you discover them!P.S. -- That orange is not a camera error, that is, in fact, rust!

he speaks the truth. I have a dent so bad it took off some paint. It rusted pretty bad (surface rust of coarse), so i sanded it and then used touch up paint.
Fish is your car in the shop yet? Dont bring it in untill they have every single part in house. Mine sat for a week waiting for one part. These things seem to take forever....

Nope. Still waiting. Will call them Friday to find out what's going on...Hoping to have it back then, my new head unit and sky fi unit came in. Want to install them badly!!!

While the head unit I got is XM ready, I opted for the Sky Fi instead because it has additional features no XM ready HU I've seen has, and also gives me the freedom to get the XM boombox and/or home connection kit down the line...

They might of overlooked it.Minor thing. Not gonna call them on that, because I need the car back. If, after I get it back, it's missing, I'll deal with it then. I have to take it back next week when the door handle comes in anyway.

Well, the car is back. Overall, amazing job. However, few small things I'm going to have to look into getting fixed:* When I was driving home, I heard a crack and a rattle. Got home, popped the hood to discover the horn snapped off. Appeared they may have overtorqued the horn so much, that when I hit a big bump, it just gave way and fell off. Half the bolt is still embedded within the tie bar. I have no horn. * They didn't reinstall the battery properly. That "strap" that holds it down is extremely loose, allowing the battery to shuffle back and forth and whatnot...risk of it sliding and causing damage perhaps.* Gaps between door/fender and hood/fender aren't QUITE lined up. Slgiht differences. Not enough that I will ask them to fix it, because it would probably be expensive, and entail another 3-4 days without the car.* Noticed that the new headlight lens is crystal clear. The old one, not so much. Not sure what discolored it, but it's actually impeding light from getting out. Note the lenses: Here's a pic that compares the output: You can't tell as clearly here, but it's evident in person that the passenger side light (the old lens) isn't nearly as bright as the other one.Only other issue I have is that on my way to drop off the car, the mailbox was kind enough to scratch the entire driver side of my car. They did a great job getting the scratch out of the driver door, but for some reason neglected to get it out of the driver side rear door and rear quarter panel. Wished they woulda remembered. There WAS one casualty in this whole recovery effort: But that's ok. I needed to repaint it anyway.I do need to recruit your help everyone. Of course, we know I got a new hood. Well, they didn't make it look identical. Can someone do two favors for me:1) Take a pic of a factory hood underside. I feel like some weatherstripping is missing.2) Can you get the part numbers of the two decals that would normally be in these spots: I recall seeing the part numbers in the lower right corners...Thanks guys!

I don't know if there is a different vacuum hose configuration for 5-speed vs. auto. emissions sticker 22160 may not be appropriate for your car, depending on what emissions option it has, a difference should be reflected in the RPO codes, but might be the same as yours, I think we both had RPO code V73, which is "Vehicle Statement USA/Canada"
Ok, so it turns out there weren't part numbers on those labels. But I found the numbers in my handy dandy parts list. And all I can say is, HOLY SH*T!$9 for one, $14 for the other!FREAKING STICKERS!This is nuts...

I'm late to this one. Great to see you're up and running. Looks fine. I wouldn't have pushed the ins. either. Sit tight till you're clean and your right about not changing. I have Allstate and the price is great but even my credit rating went into getting that #. They wouldn't help you save a penny right now. You would have paid that claim back in a couple of years. I bet the family is pretty happy with how you handled this.
Vibe GT, TRD springs, Progress bar, STB, Unichip, Borbet E 16x7.5, 225/50 Bridgestone RE750, beefed up grounds and battery bypass capacitors(had em laying around)

Yeah, the family was pretty much the ones who decided how I handled it...

About 2 weeks ago I bought a bolt extraction kit to try and get the sheared bolt out (months after it actually broke). Managed to get it out.Tracked down a replacement part number, and for anyone interested, replacement horn bolt information:94857231 F-BOLT $0.63Yes, I could have just hit up home depot and bought an off-the-shelf bolt. But I figured this would've been easier.
