This check engine light sounds like it is happening a lot. I have my AWD Vibe in the shop now for the third time with this problem. I'm getting the same lame responses like some of the ones posted here about why this is happening. I think the problem is too common. Has anyone used a lemon law suit yet to resolve this?
Quote, originally posted by silverawd26 »PHH013 has a CEL on her AWD a few times, but she was experiencing lack of power and the transmission was upshifting/down shifting when when it was not suppose you. This was caused by a clogged Catalytic Converter. It was taken care of after a while (Lack of knowledge of the vehicle on the dealerships part) and GM made up for her troublel Correction, I never had a CEL and the diagnostics never threw any trouble codes, hence it took 6 months to correctly diagnose my car's problems.I find it ironic that a loose gas cap will trigger a CEL, but not a plugged CC. I dunno!?!?!

I agree... we need more info! If it's not doing anything, but just exhibiting a CEL, it might be a faulty module or something... I had a CEL on my Explorer that they determined was caused by a bug wing getting stuck somewhere & sending a code. After they reset it & couldn't find a problem, I never had any more issues with it.There seems to be 2 camps with this car when it comes to a CEL: never had one, but had lots of trouble (like me), and everyone else, who gets a CEL, but no symptoms.
