Rear Wiper Replacement

Post by CMcGowan »

Now that winter is here, I have been getting the Vibe ready. I bought some winter blades for the front but after looking at the rear wiper blade assembly, am I dommed to dealer parts/prices? I was able to pop the blade off and it's a post style blade refill put the post is like 3 times the size of your normal wiper post. Also the gap is about 1/8" bigger then a regular wiper. Is my only hope trying to remove and replace the ruber blade itself? Thanks

Is your rear blade worn out? It shouldn't be too bad yet.A lot of dealers will install the blade if you purchase it from them. I'd just do that and sit in the warm waiting room fillin' up on jelly donuts while they figure it out.

I just recently bought winter wipers for the front also. I asked the guy at Advance Auto if the rear wiper was a dealer only item and he told me that it probably was but to try some other parts stores first. The wiper refill would be your least expensive route, if available. Unfortunately, this might still be a dealer only item.

Curious to know how much it would cost? Knowing the dealers they probably jack up the price
