not me, my pipe is too close to the plastic... I think I'll keep the paint job on my bumper.Maybe IF the opening of my exhaust wasn't so close to the bumper, I would take a free one

The way most* of them work is by cutting out the spark to some or all of the cylinders and firing a sparkplug in the exhaust. The unburned fuel and air from the unfired cylinders is ignited in the pipes. One downside is the potential for fuel wash removing the oil from the cylinder walls and causing excessive wear. Impressive, though! *There have been systems built using military flamethrower technology, but such are potentially lethal as well as spectacular!

that would be cool, but it seems kind of dangerous to me. i doubt that would be street legal. imagine sitting behind a car at a light, it turns green, then he roasts your front end!

Wouldn't take one of those, but I remember watching a show on TLC on auto security and they had flamethrowers on the side of the car. They would roast a would-be attacker who was trying to get into the car. Those I would take.

Quote, originally posted by huy397 »are those legal? No these are not legal. The flame thower kit wuld not even work on the vibe, Because we have fuel injection system. The fuel injec. wont let enough fuel to flow through the system to let the flmes in he exhaust. You would have to get propane or something to help to light the flames. On older cars you can light the exhaust a lot easier because your dont have fuel injec. usully you have a carbarator that you can rev the crap out of and dump lots of gas fumes down in to exhaust to light the flames. I have a friend that ownes a 66 impala with flame throwers. They look sweet! I have been looking in to it, I really thinks cool as hell!

Don't get me wrong, I think they can be pretty cool, too. But on the right car. On the 66 Impala, that would be sweet!

Okay, let's get this straight....we all agree (wether we drive a Trix or a Vibe) it ain't no show car...at least not the ones we bought. I don't think that they are legal in Ontario to begin with, but damn, no, I wouldn't want that on my car.
