Regular oil vs Synthetic??

My first oil change is fast approaching and I'd like everyone's input on what the pro's and cons of using synthetic oil are?Thanks

Pros - Better protection duing cold starts, and extreme temperatures.Slightly better fuel economy due to less friction (very small).Longer times between oil changes.Longer lasting engine.Cons - Price I'm sure Kolb will have something to say about this...

Correct me if I'm wrong but for warranty purposes does the oil still not have to be changed every 5000 KM/3000 Miles no matter what oil you put in it??
