Well I replaced the speakers in the rear of the vibe because my wife blew them within a month. Now I added a Pioneer mp3/cd changer controller for her trip to georgia. She liked the idea that I could burn 170 songs on one disk for her to drive with. 3 Hours into the trip she blows the front right speaker. I like the look (and sound) of the Polk component set, but am looking for other options. Anyone have any advice? I have Polk ex-2's in the rear now and they sound great.

If she is blowing the factory speakers, she either has the base too high, or she will be deaf within just a few years. My radio is so loud at half volume, that it hurts.

I don't know if you guys notice the difference, but the same volume will much louder with a CD then it is on the Radio. If you like your music loud, you crank up the radio... you get used to listening to the radio on a certain volume, then you turn on a CD at that volume, and it's much louder.
i pound the sh*t out of my factory speaks, nothing blown yet. must be the bass. tell your wife that if the speakers are farting and distorting, she needs to turn something down...
