Just ordered from grafxwerx, need install tips

Post by oolunchbox »

I just sent out my order to ryan for 3 bordered vibe decals, a bordered arrowhead adn the 3rd breaklight decal. I'm going to debadge my vibe adn replace with the bordered decals but i'm looking for any advice anyone has to offer. ive read all the threads about debadging and seen 2 or 3 methods. I'm wondering which is the best the fishline/ floss or the hairdryer methos, i want to do this as cleanly and easily as possible. also if anyone has experience with the inside mount 3rd breaklight decal, do you have any tips for installing it?thanksLuNCH

Ryan will send you instructions along with your purchase. They are real easy to install you will see. If you have any questions you can always email him or ask away.It did not take me much time to put them on my Vibe, just a few minutes and I really like them

First off, before you remove the factory badges, you should mark their location with tape since you plan to install the bordered replacements. This will ensure you get the replacements installed straight and true.I personally recommend shaving the badges with fishing line (20lb test works excellent). To remove the remaining foam tape, the technique that has worked best for me is to carefully peel up a corner with your fingernail and, holding it parallel to the body of the car, stretch it in the opposite direction. If you do this slowly and carefully, the foam and adhesive will come off in one piece leaving no goo behind.Any remaining goo can be cleaned up with some rubbing alcohol or gasoline (I've stopped recommending Goo-Gone as I've heard of a few discoloration issues, although I have never experienced this myself). As for application, as mentioned, detailed instructions are included.- RyanGrafxWerks

No, you hold the fishing line and "saw" back and forth behind the badge until you slice through all the foam tape and the badge falls off.- Ryan
