About to build sub box

Post by TheDude »

Well the time has come upon me to get off of my lazy (removed) and start doing some building. The only problem is that i dont know how many subs im gonna run. Im gonna build a sub floor, which means im getting rid of everything in the rear of the car, spare tire, covers, cubby holes, ect... and replacing it with fiberglass. I have 2 audiobahn 1206Q flame Q series 12" woofers. They each have a 1100rms and 2200peak power rating. I've been thinking that running them as a pair is gonna be hell on my car, but i dont know yet. I've still yet to buy my amp for the sub(s) so i still have time to decide on that. If i was running the 2 of them i was looking at the JBL BXP2200.1 Rated at 2200rms and 4400 peak at ohm level 1-4, which would push the 2 subs perfectly. I know im gonna get the mold of the rear end done with fiberglass, so i'll see how that works out before i make a final decision on speaker placement. I may even start on the amp rack for the speaker amp and some neons, but we'll see if im up to it.Im gonna take pictures of the progression, so you can all make fun of my terrible fiberglass skills

Warning to anyone thinking of doing fiberglass; Make sure you have a few days of nice weather where you can have your windows rolled down. Fiberglass stinks like there is no tomorrow. Its worse than any glue i have ever been in contact with.
