I was at Fairmont Hot Springs last month and didn't see one Vibe! I can't believe that there are 2003's & 2004's out there, yet spotting a Vibe is still so hard.

I sell probably 2-3 per month (the fact that I have a passion for these vehicles helps) here in Vancouver, and I tell my customers about this website, so new members are on their way.
Absolutely love mine. I'm a road salesman with Lordco, this little car looks great and performs even better with a couple of upgrades! A little hint get the manual shift! If you need help closing just send them my way, I think I have sold about three out in the valley for Mertins! LOL!

what would you say are the most important things a salesman can do to earn your trust (and the sale)? I am still a relatively new salesman and am always looking to make myself more responsive to my customers.
quote:what would you say are the most important things a salesman can do to earn your trust (and the sale)? Don't lie or play games with them. Answer customer questions honestly, even if it doesn't reflect positively on the car or the dealership. Don't bait and switch. Know about the cars.Biggest one for me would probably be don't use high pressure tactics. That has gotten me to walk away from a dealers showroom faster than anything else.
One of the things I am looking at doing is trying to convince my boss that the tuner market is somewhere we should be going. Can you give me any advice?
I can't help you with attracting the tuner market. Mine is still mostly stock, nothing really visible. Bought it to run up a quick three or four hundred thousand miles on it, and then maybe move on. I see a complaint here often about GM not offering a lot of aftermarket accessories/options for the Vibe. There's much more out there for the Matrix. Might be hard to grab the tuners unless you can also point them to stuff they can buy to tune the car with.Maybe start a new thread to ask the tuners what would attract them to a particular dealership.
Well i agree that lieing is bad and presure tactics are just a pain... Be honest, friendly but my bigest peeve with all the salesmen I have delat with is lack of product knowledge... Know what you are selling what the options are and what the competition offers. Treat all your customers the same whether they are thinking of buying a top of the line SUV or a base sunfire... I have walked out of a potential sale because of the sales mans lack of intrest in the sale.
As for the tuner market.... It is a good idea but make sure you research the cmodifications.. I towed a brand new ZX3 that a slaes man was driving back from the pro shop after they did some mods to it...... It did not meet the Prov. Regs..... he told me they had sold about 5 from the lot with the same mods..... after i told him the delaer could be liable in the event something goes wrong or the car crashes etc... he was going to contact all the owners to have the cars fixed..... very $$$$$$ for them....p.s. I am a traffic officer....
Mainly what I would do is just wheels and tires (my dealership is the largest independant dealer of Michelin tires and BBS rims), graphics packages, sound systems and exhaust systems. The stuff like intakes, brake upgrades, chips, and some of the other more risky mods, we don't offer those.
we have other brands too - i only mentioned BBS because they were the first ones that came to mind because I just sold an Escalade with BBS's on it. Not too sure which brand we would go with on the Vibe - that's probably a good topic for my next meeting with the Tire Department, now that they are back from SEMA.
