Injen cai on base Vibe

Post by shibaman »

Wow! What a difference! Car runs great. First chance to really drive it and am impressed about improvement in both low end and what it does on the freeway. Goes like crazy even with an auto. $ well spent. Now a ? I put the Injen sticker on the back window. Will this make me a target for cops or kids trying to race? What do you think? Thanks.

thats wonderful and assuring feedback... this makes me want to get the CAI even more now one question I thought of that I didn't get a chance to look up is how adding a CAI effects Warranty?.. Will it void the engine or any parts of the car?

Oh and about the Sticker..I would incline not to put the sticker if it means being a target for the police or racing kids...

ok I search... adding a CAI most likely will not void Warranty

When I had my CAI in, I put the injen sticker right under the vibe badge. I had been pulled over several times (for other reasons), and no one mentionecd it.

i don't think an injen sticker would be grounds for being pulled over any moreso than the sound of the cai. the only stickers i would definitely steer clear from would be ones that advocate or insinuate (sp?) racing.

I was just curious if your CAI is the newly redesigned version from CAI that was made specifically for the Base and AWD? Assuming that it is... when you installed it, did you have any issues with the filter sitting right on top of the foglight housing? I installed one and the filter actually rubs and presses right up against the back of the foglight housing. I called Injen about it and they think that they could have possibly sent me the wrong filter and they want pictures of it (which I will try to get to in a few days). Just wondering if you, or anyone that has the redesigned Injen CAI, have the same problem.

Mine was the new one #ptrd7025p. I had to push it up onto the tube a ways. It sits on top of the fog light. It was a #!@@#$#$$ to get past the light on to the tube. Next time i am going to loosen up the tube and have my son help me from up top while I put the filter on from down below. I can't beleive how much better the car runs now!

If you loosen up the tube... it won't help much when you have to put the filter on again. When you say you had to "push it up onto the tube a ways" how far exactly did you push? I could only get the filter to go on so far and then it stopped. I'm just trying to figure out if I have the wrong filter or not... oh well.

I am guessing that I had to push it up a couple of inches. It sits right on top of the fog light. I had to push it on the tube at an angle and then up to get it to clear the lamp. Did you order the same part # as me? ptrd7025? My box had the right # and said it was for a Vibe.

According to the box and the manual (if you can call it that) I have the same one as you. It's just that Injen thinks they may have sent the wrong filter in my box, just not sure.
