In dash 6 cd changer??

Post by Craigmri »

Is the factory in dash 6 cd changer a Bose product? I saw a Chevy Trailblazer ad and it appeared to be the identical unit with "Bose" clearly viewed.

I don't know about that Bose unit you saw, but the 6-disk changer in our cars is a product of Delphi in Kokomo Indiana. But you would be suprised how many radio's you see that are based on the same guts that our radio is. Kia, Hyundai, Chevy, Ford, all of them contract with Delphi to make radio's for them.

Alex,First look at this photo: Its obviously the same or near identical radio that my Vibe has and clearly has a Bose brand on it.

the Bose system isnt so much the deck, but more the amp(s) and speaker set up

Dude,Is it possible then that the deck in the photo is actually a Delphi head unit that is part of a "Bose system"?

Maybe it's me, but I'm not seeing it say Bose anywhere on it.

Tough to see on the small pic, but I think it says BOSE right under the time display

Uses the same radio, but different amp I think, and the radio says Monsoon on it, despite it being identical to the non Monsoon packages.Anything's possible.

Thanks Salsa.....I think I understand now. Its a Delphi unit I suppose in my Vibe that doesnt have the Bose, Monsoon etc.... treatment done to it as a system....to be honest I still think it sounds excellent. Only thing I may do down the road is upgrade speakers to some high end stuff but thats it.
