With the lowering spring, the suspesion is harder. The car roll less while cornering. But it could have difference between the differand bran of spring.

The wheel hop seems to be a little more present since I installed my spring. I don't know if it is only because my driving style has changed or it is related...

I've never considered the Vibe steady and smooth. It's always been a bit firm. When I added the TRD springs, I noticed a bit firmer ride, but the MAJOR benefit is the MUCH better high-speed stability. Darn car cruises at 90-100mph and feels rock solid.
