Hi i got my vibe on 30 july 2002 and i'm wandering if there is anyone who can suggest me a more confortable tire then the continental that comes with it. and also those anyone have any stupid little rattles, little ones very anoying. Thanks Manny
Have you checked your inflation. I had those so called rattles and found that the dealer in their prep had aired mine to 40 pounds(way too much) I dropped them to the recommended32psi and all is well. Very Smooth and quiet. Vibe
me too and they suggested to bring them down to 26 . i reported 9 rattles : rear panels, lids in the trunk, the trunk lid (spare tire), the dash (chrome where the radio is) squiking of the rubber on the doors and the ceilling. out of all these i have to back for more the ceilling , the dash(instrument cluster + the two chrome aluminum) and a new rattle the moldings between the front and back doors. so far the service is impeccable but all these littles problems and the car only as 3450 Km.
about the smoothnees and quiet, i don't think so i believe that the ride on my Z24 was smoother. i mean i feel every crack on the road. I,M going next week to bring it back and i'm going to ask to try another model because i find the suspension very hard. much harder them the demo i tried in april.
Smooth & Quiet YES!!!!!! Mine is exactly as I stated. I'm sorry yours is not this way,but yes visit the dealer and verify that your suspension has the proper shocks because things have been known to slip through the factory. I know because I work for General Motors. And most of all drive another one. I had a 2000 GMC Jimmy that rode like the devil and rattled--GOOD GRIEF -I couldn't wait to get rid of that lemon. The difference between that 39,000dollar Jimmy and my Vibe is total night & day. And yes auto companies do produce lemons.
The only rattle that I had was from the radio mounting screws. When I installed my Pioneer I noticed that one of the screws was not all the way in and the washer was causing the noise. Since then I haven't had any rattles besides the change in the holder. The ride IMO is better than the Sunfire GT that my brother had, but not by much. Then again this thing has large rims and short tire walls so a smooth ride is hard to come by.
You're right. The Vibe isn't made to be a floating couch but the ride is 200% better than my Cavalier. Quieter and handles better (in my opinion). If I wanted something with more performance, I would not have bought the Vibe. I get a nice mix of performance and comfort all in one.chakal29: If you feel that something isn't right.. take it into the dealer. That's what you paid for.. use the warranty if you feel necessary. As was previously stated, you never know if there is something wrong even though it is brand new. Not every car is identical.
