I was browsing on the GM Canada weg site and built up my own Vibe.I was very surprise to see in the "Interioir/exterior" field an "option" saying:quote: PAINT TYPE SOLID PAINT (STD) $ 0.00What does it mean??? 04 paint is better then 03 or what?
quote:My guess is it means a solid color as opposed to a dichromatic color or something...Excuse my total lack of knowledge, but can you tell me what "dichromatic" means?
I think dichromatic is the word. But it's those paints that look one color from one angle, then you look at it from a different angle adn it's a different color...
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

You can get metallic paint as an option on some but dichromatic, I cannot figure out what car has this.
quote:What color did you choose when you built the Vibe?My guess may be it is referring to solid (Frosty/white) vs metallic (Abyss/black, Fusion, etc.)?No color yet. This info is in the "Interior/exterior" field, which is the 5th field and the choice of color is in the 8th and last field to do.
In the same time period, Ford was offering a special metallic paint that shifted between 4 different colors on the Mustang GT and Lightning. It was a factory option that could be yours for a mere $4000. Needless to say, I don't think many were sold.
