OK, I have to drop my vibe off Sunday to the dealership for an appointment on Tuesday. I'm going on vacation.... i need to install the factory airbox back into my GT, but I've run into a snag. I have all the hoses hooked back up, but one hose is not hooked to anything! I'm not sure where it goes. Can someone with a GT, non CAI, tell me where this hose goes to (it's the one sticking straight up running off the little blue connector thingy...)? it's not allowing me to attach the pic, so please click on the link. Thanks for all your help!!! Hope
Here's the picture in-lineWhy do you need to put the stock air box back in? I thought that installing a CAI only meant that your intake was no longer covered by warranty, but didn;t affect any other warranty work. Also, ( and sorry, but going offtopic) but where are you going on vacation? Are you taking the Vibe?

The intake wouldn't be covered under warranty, but if the stock OEM airbox is back on, they can check the computer codes and reset the CEL. I learned this with my Tundra that had the same issue (CAI=CEL)3. Off topic, I am going to Hawaii and no, I can't bring my Vibe with me.
ok, i found where the hose hooks up. underneath the blue vsv valves on the left side of the airbox, there is a small hook up. you have to hook the hose up to that first before you can put the VSV back on the metal connector.i'm gonna miss my extra hp and if any matrix XRS owner wants to buy my CAI, I'll sell it. make me an offer...
I'm glad you figured it out. My 1ZZ intake doesn't have that hose. You had the TRD CAI right? Are you getting rid of it because of the CEL, or for a different reason?(EDIT - nevermind, I saw your post in forsale at http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=6704)Kind of hard to feel sorry for you since you off to Hawaii. Maybe I'll feel sorry for you after you get back to tropical Alaska.
Hey trd, re your trip and just "slightly" off topic: How many people knew without checking a map that Hawaii was pretty much due South of Western Alaska?
well, it's very different from where i am at. keep in mind AK is 1/3 the size of teh entire 48 states and is extremely close to Russia (formerly known as..) so we have a wide range of land mass and tiny islands. so, it's not really that close to AK.
Well, isn't this ironic....I took my TRD CAI off last weekend too. I got tired of the CEL. If the CEL stays off for a couple of tank fulls, I'll have a CAI for sale too...cheap. They are implementing an emissions inspection program here in PA in a couple months and I'm not sure having a CEL would pass. It's a darn shame...the power was awsome.
Lorin2003 Pontiac Vibe GT, Neptune-mono, moons & tunes, power package, side impact airbags, rear seat covers, bumper protector, cargo mat.Mods installed: TRD exhaust, TRD stb, Mods removed: TRD CAI - annoyed by CEL
well, in AK we automatically fail if teh CEL is on. from my understanding it's just the TRD CAI that makes the CEL come on. others have no probs w/ the Injen or AEM ones. I am thinking of getting a short ram, but am still not sure.
