We've had the '07 Vibe Base for nine years now. It was our primary car until two years ago, when we tried to replace it with a 2014 Crosstrek. That didn't last long--the Crosstrek, with 140K miles, started having multiple problems and we lost confidence in it. We're back to the Vibe, now with 230K miles, as the primary car. We're shopping for another replacement, but not in too much of a hurry. The Vibe still runs great.
We found a great deal on a 2014 Rav4 with 26K miles, which seemed too good to be true, so of course it was a scam attempt. We're looking at other older Toyotas, and some newer FWD SUV (non-CVT) models like the Hyundai Tucson.
The day the Crosstrek decided to take a dump, I was changing the coolant and hoses on the Vibe. When I bought the supplies at the parts store, the young clerk smiled and said he has one too, probably about his age. And I may soon be putting yet another "last set of tires" on it.
