I'm the proud new owner of a 2008 Vibe, and I've just encountered my first issue: I'm getting a leak at my driver's side A pillar (where the plastic cover meets the fabric headliner) after any decent amount of rain.
Here's the kicker, though: my sunroof drains are working just fine. I tested them and they worked. For good measure I've pulled the headliner, pulled the drain lines, blew them out, and reconnected them (using a tighter clamp) and I still get the leaking issue.
I noticed, during my testing, that the corners of my sunroof do not seal at all. The seal that is bonded to the sunroof glass appears to be somewhat cracked at each of the corners. There's a big enough gap at the corners to comfortably slip a house key through, and this is allowing a TON of water to flow into the catch pan/drain pan area.
I suspect what's happening is that the sunroof drains aren't designed to or capable of keeping up with the volume of water that is entering through the corners of the sunroof.
Does anyone have any insight on this? I'm workshopping some ideas for how to add a thin layer of some kind of sealant (self adhesive silicone strip, perhaps?) to the inside radius of the corners on the vehicle body, which would allow the corners to seal when the sunroof is fully forward.
I'd appreciate any tips, or any thoughts for solutions!
