Many years ago, when our Vibe was only a couple years old, it was accidentally backed into, and the front driver's side bumper was pushed in at the lower corner below the headlight. In addition to pushing the headlight out of alignment, the bumper bracket was shattered, causing the bumper to flop loosely where it meets the fender. I dug out as many pieces of the shattered bracket as I could and just went with it because I didn't feel like spending lots of money at a body shop, and I didn't want to mess with insurance.
We drove it all these years like that and it was fine, but I recently decided to replace the headlight housings, and I wanted to unbend the metal and replace that bracket mainly so the headlight will sit where it should, but also so the bumper and fender look a bit better.
I looked around a bit and found this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/158035934002, but it's for the passenger side. I tried looking some more, but it seems to be the only one available.
So then I thought I'd try searching for the Toyota Matrix equivalent with the hope that they'd be more common. Sure enough, they are. Many listings exist for kits that include brackets for both sides, such as this example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/147363187533.
However, I don't know if this part compatible with the Vibe, given that the Matrix's front bumper is shaped differently than the Vibe's.
Which brings me to this: Are the Matrix bumper brackets interchangeable with the Vibe?
Thank you!
