Called Toyota yesterday...With a little digging they found this
P/N82166-01010-Wire $16.26
This is SUPPOSED to be the harness from the chassis wiring harness to the 12vdc socket.
Here are the P/N and prices for the socket and cover.
85530-06010 socket $22.34
85535-02031 cover $7.39
That was 21 years ago, so if Toyota still stocks those parts, the prices will have surely increased.
21 years? Wow, time sure flies! Last I knew, we were proudly driving our new Vibe off the lot!
Anyway, this info gives me a very good place to start! Now I know something about what to look for, at least.

At this point, you might look for a 03 or 04 Vibe or Matrix at a junkyard. If you find one, you might want to snag the coveted 03/04 double console armrest lid while you're at it.
Toyota probably hasn't made/sold these in years (I just discovered today that they (well, GM) no longer carry the 2003-2008 Vibe's A/C condenser, although they have endorsed an aftermarket equivalent that apparently works), so yeah, a junkyard is probably where I'll be most likely to find it (plus online at places like eBay, of course).
I've never liked the stock armrest lid too much (the hard plastic is, well, hard) and the hinges are flimsy and broke many years ago; does the 03-04 double lid have a soft cushion and better hinges, or is it basically the same as the 05+ lid except with an extra compartment or two?
That said, I started searching for the part numbers on eBay just now, and while I didn't find the part number you posted, I did find this one which looks promising, being that it *looks* rather similar, and it's part number is only different by *one* number (82166-02010 on eBay versus 82166-0
1010 as quoted from Josh):
https://www.ebay.com/itm/127023556116
The listing says it's from a 2003-2008 Corolla, so perhaps 82166-02010 is equivalent to the Matrix part? Given that both the Vibe and Matrix are derived from the 03-08 Corolla, this seems logical to me, but I could be wrong?

I *could* cut and splice an aftermarket thing in (I did that in my old GMC pickup a couple years ago), but I'd rather use stock parts if I can, for reliability's sake if nothing else (plus, it's easier and safer than hacking things up).
The search continues....
