2006 AWD Vibe For Parts

Post by OPEworld25 »

Hello, first time posting here. I have a 2006 AWD Pontiac Vibe that's metallic blue with gray trim on the exterior, and I'm looking to see if anyone is interested in parts from it. The car is kinda drivable. The odometer reads ~190,000; most underbody parts are rusty, there is some exterior paint damage, and a few small dents, but overall, the car is in decent shape. It's located in southeast Indiana near Cincinnati.
I'm also looking for any tips you might have on the best way to approach this process, such as packaging and shipping, as well as what items I shouldn't bother selling.
This vehicle has been having problems since I got it. Currently, the gas pedal stops working randomly while driving, and we've narrowed it down to the transmission. The rear differential is probably faulty, and the rear crossmember is severely rusty (we have already replaced the front one). It is not worth fixing all this, so now I'm looking to get as much money as I can out of it by breaking it down.
Please let me know if you're interested in any parts or the entire car.

I would be interested in the rims depending on the condition. Is that just brake dust or are they pitted/peeling? I would also be intersted in the AC / recirculate switch if it works.

As far as the other parts, it comes down to what is cost effective to package and ship (as you mentioned). Small parts such as the console lid, logo/emblem, roof rack caps, head/tail light assembly, window switches, cruise control switch, radio, floor mats, etc would be easy to pull and place here or on ebay. Shipping would not be bad for those.

It is the larger parts that could still be of value but would not be efficient to ship such as seats, bumper covers, exterior trim pieces, hood, quarter panels, etc. These are in demand due to limited availability but could be sold local or schedule meeting points.

My suggestion would be to make an inventory of parts that are in good condition and post it or search ebay autos for ideas on what prices are. Then you can go from there as far as selling those parts.
