Navigation Systems

Post by technotite »

Was there ever a navigation system for the 09-10 Vibe, and if so how easy would it be to install?

If not, would it be feasible to install the equivalent Matrix system, and easy enough?

Additionally, is there any way to install aftermarket radios without affecting OnStar/Warning Chime function?

For that matter, does onstar still even work after the shutdown of CDMA cellular networks?

A cursory look and I can't find any reference to an 09-10 Nav system. Even if there was, you probably would have a really difficult time finding/affording a map update for a 16 year old Nav system.

I haven't paid much attention to it, but I'm sure there are aftermarket solutions, If you go that way, might be better to find one that supports Android Auto or Apple Car Play (depending on how you roll) than to potentially pay extra for one with a built in Nav capability.

I 'm not familiar with the OnStar chime function, what it does or or why you'd want that

Looks like the answer's no, based on what I see at https://www.onstar.com/support/faq/2g-network-sunset
