Hello,

I found this little community after purchasing a 2009 vibe awd for my daughter. The vibe needs some work to make it worthy of my little one. I found this board whilst looking for things to improve the car. I use to belong to Clubgp before it eventually died and withered away. I still frequent 3800performance on the Book. When looking for a car I wanted AWD, most of them look like mom cars(daughter's words). I found the vibe and was sold. I didn't realize how much I would love it. It needs brakes, struts and a wheel bearing. The radio nob doesn't allow you to turn up the volume. I have time to fix these things seeings how my daughter isn't even taking drivers ed yet.

Welcome to GenVibe. Good choice for anyone's kid as a first car. Safe, reliable, good on gas, and easy to work on. I teamed up with my son when he got his 2009 Vibe GT some 14 years ago and still has it today :D I paid half & he paid half for it. Anyways I have a few extra radio knobs for the 2009-10 Vibe radios if you need one or two. Update your profile showing approximate location. f you're close enough to me I'll drop them off! visit us often here and good luck with all the repairs! ............... Tim

I'm going to be honest, I love forums over facebook groups. Sadly forums mostly died long ago. It has been so long since I knew how to attach a signature and post pics, that I'm honestly not in the mood to figure it out again. I found a Kenwood double din dvd/cd receiver at a garage sale for $20. I'm finnin to install it to fix the radio. I will probably upgrade the stock speakers (unless the stocks one are suitable). I then will likely add a little bass (the kids love my stereos in my cars).

I will probably add some REV 9 coilovers(the stock suspension is shot). The brakes will get calipers, rotors and pads. I will likely flush the brake fluid too. I already had the front wheel bearings replaced. I watched a how to youtube video on the bearing replacement and decided I would pay a shop to do it. It was $889 total for both front wheel bearings. I was entertaining dropping the transmission pan and changing filter, a mechanic friend of mine cautioned me against it. That is currently in a holding pattern.

I purchased some ENKEI VR5 16's used from a scrap yard, not perfect but good enough for a young driver. The wife won't let me put fart cannon on it. :)
