Apparently people don't replace their donut spares very often as there is exactly one available in the OEM size T135/70 R16 100M from Continental and it ain't cheap at about $150. Sure safety is priceless, I just have a hard time fathoming paying that much for a tire that may never be used for a vehicle that that is barely worth more than that. It is the original tire that's in my '03 Vibe and at almost 23 years old, it definitely is time for a change.
I'd check the local junk yard as they do have some Vibe, Matrix and Corollas, but even from the newest model would be 15+ years old. Is there anything else that I should consider before I lay down $150 for a new tire? Seems like the Corolla switched to a different size in MY 10. Anyone know if there are other newer vehicles that run the same size tire and bolt pattern as out Vibes? Thanks!
