The radio preset buttons also perform some CD control functions. When you are in radio mode, the station preset buttons only light up the preset number. When in CD mode, the preset button lighting changes to only illuminate the Cd functions. This is a token thing, but I thought it was a nice touch. Had my vibe for about nine months now and didn't notice the selective lighting of the preset buttons until last night. Kind of fun to discover some new thing in the car. I have an ex-matrix CD/tape unit in my vibe. Does the basic vibe single CD unit do the same thing?
quote:Yep. the lighting behind the buttons switches between cd functions and preset radio settings depending on the mode...I assumed I wasn't the first to notice it. For me the fun part was noticing it after having the car for so long. Kind of like when you discovered that there was a washer fluid dipstick (but at least I didn't title my post "Hidden feature discovered!" )
Now, I know I'm easily amused, but I sat there and switched radio, cd, radio, cd for about 5 minutes after noticing this. It's just sooooo cool! For the next week, any time someone would get in my car I'd have to show them the nifty feature. FYI, the butons work the same way on the CD/Tape model. I noticed the washer fluid dipstick the first time I went to fill it up. (Have you noticed that the reservoir is HUGE? Takes well over a gallon if you manage to run it dry.)What other weird little features are lurking in our cars that some of us might not have noticed?
