New Owner with Good Vibe-rations!

Post by jcarter »

Hey all, just purchased a 2003 Vibe with 288k miles. Going through it and fixing little things while tackling the larger issues of a P0420 code and no right turn signal blinky. As far as the P0420 I'm just waiting for the light to go out after applying the recommended fix (Upstream O2 Sensor). OBD2 scanner says it should pass... All the emissions passes in my scanner. It's the turn signals that are causing the most stress. I put a post in Electrical explaining the issue and what I've done. I'm just glad I found this forum, a tons of information here!

Welcome to GenVibe Jim. :D Hopefully the vibe you recently acquired has already had the transmission rebuilt OR replaced. With that high of mileage I doubt that it is original. Bearing failures are the norm for that tranny of those years. Never messed with turn signal stuff on any of my vibes yet so can't help you there yet. Thanks for posting location. That helps us help you.

welcome jcarter

I have a 2005 base Vibe with about 190,000.

My drivers rear turn signal was hyper flashing a few days ago. Sounds weird, but I switched the bulb to the other side of the car and all is well now.

Do you have any oil leaks on the passenger side of the engine. There,s a few possible causes and they are all discussed in great detail on this genvibe forum.
Many years ago alot of manual tranny vibes were having clutch problems.
