WTB - Wheel covers

Post by Mark »

I just bought some steel wheels to mount snow tires for Frosty, and I have a spare set of steel wheel lug nuts. So all I need is a set of wheel covers that screw on to the steel wheel nuts.

When I was looking for OEM wheel covers for a relative's Vibe (one who seem to have trouble not sideswiping curbs, as the original ones were reduced to about 20% of original size) it seemed like OEM were ridiculously pricey and I ended up giving him mine when I traded in one of my Vibes. Might be worth a look into some cheap aftermarket/generic ones.

I think the bare steelies are not attractive, but the plastic wheel covers are just cosmetic, so they are optional. Wonder what frosty would look like with no wheel covers but the steelies painted white

I think that would look absolutely horrid. The black steel are unattractive for sure, but painting them white is not the solution LOL

Totally agree. Spend $60+ and get a set of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013H2OJOK?re ... idget&th=1 I assume your year Vibe has Corrola base steel rims? If not, then it still won't break the bank to get a set to cover them up!

I have to agree, I wouldn't do it to my car, but I've seen people do worse to their cars

I'm looking at similar, but my Vibe wheels are 16". It's really hard to find the wheel covers that will screw on to the lug nuts like the OEM ones do. I'll probably end up with some snap in ones instead. I might be running them year round since my alloy rims are getting corroded and I get frequent bead leaks.

OK. Well these 16" Camry "knock offs" should fit any 16" steel rim. I bought this exact set 12 years ago & again four years ago. Only cost me $34.98 total in 2010, and even less, $34.00 total in 2018 :o Unfortunately they are 2x to 3x that price today :x Attached is an old file photo of what they look like on the Vibe ;)
