Removing headlights.

Post by DopeVibeGT »

Ok, I tried to put some LED 1157 bulbs in the front, and somehow, my luck, the bulb came off the connector inside the headlight. Theres no way other than taking the headlight off to get this thing out...I've tried! I took the two bolts off the top of the headlight, but it still dont want to pull out. HELP! And how are you suppose to change the drivers side?? My hands arent big at all, but it's next to impossible to get in there!

Could you put a piece of gum on a wire, feed it in through the access hole and press it onto the bulb, then haul it up/out very carefully? (I have not looked at the installation, so I don't know if this is practical or not)

With my luck, the gum would get stuck to the inside headlight. LoL I bought one of those flexible claw things, but cant get the angle to hit the bulb.

If the Vibe is set up like the matrix at all, there are two bolts on the bottom you need to undo. The bad part about that is you have to remove the bumper to get to them. I could be wrong, anyone know for sure?

No, your correct. You need to pull the bumper away from the headlight in order to reach the two bolts that are on the bottom half of the headlamp. If you undo that half of the bumper, you should be able to reach those bolts.

So, I have to tear half the car apart to get a loose bulb out?? Guess what, the bulb stays in there. So, when the parking lights burn out, how do they expect one to change them? The drivers side is easy, but the drivers side is impossible. Someone needs to go back to the designer board.

Ok, I took the front corner off enough to 'peel' back to get to the two screws. They are on the side of the headlight. What a pain. To get to the drivers side parking light, one must take out the battery. Then theres just enough rook to get two fingers in there to twist it off. But, all this effort was worthless....since the LED bulbs didnt work anyway. Yes, they were 1157's, but they wouldnt work.

I removed the assembly becaue the bulb came off the connector inside of it. We are also saying that getting to the front parking lights is a pain in the (removed).Know where I can get one of those parts list?? I found one on an online parts store, but thats just for the internet. Not a hard copy.
