I have just realized that when I put my bike on a Thule 751 Rapid Railing Carrier rack my back hatch would not open. The rear tire overhangs and interferes with the hatch even with the rack all the way forward!!I have gone to my local rack dealer and we tried to fit other kit but without luck. We tried a bar on the car rack and another in the front but without luck.Anyone have a solution??? I dont want Hitch Mount Rack!
When you use the bike portion, you either have to not be able to open the hatch all the way, or you can flip the carrier around ( bikes will be facing backwards) and it will work fine. I am in the same dilema, I think if you have a Subaru you have to do the same thing. You could also have a shop customize a bar that fits farther forward on the rack, but that will cost a bit more, and void the Thule warranty.-Chad
The other option would be to have a trailer hitch installed (is it available?) and buy a rack that sits on that. I guess you would still run into the same problem though. I know the Saturn Vue has an interior rack available. Perhaps Pontiac will release one for the vibe (I don't know if it is tall enough in the interior). Jon
You know I'm sure i've seen a photo of the Vibe with two bikes inside in the cargo area with the seats folded down and it didn't have the racks like the Vue (as far as I could tell). Could the bike just be put inside without the rack?

Thought I had seen a picture of a bike in the rear cargo area. Found this picture of the Toyota Voltz in the yahoo group.
