Okay people I hope everyone is well,,,, my question is I've been visiting here for a while and haven't seen anything new,,, where did we all go??? this used to be a daily thing, everyone posted something.I would like to know that everyone is alright and still kicking!!!!so lets post. hey you never know we might be seeing another meet soon, hopefully before there is snow on the groud.....
You're right, Tim: Time to plan another meet, before the snow comes to stay! (Besides, I need a deadline to GOMA and wrap up the next mod on my Vibe...)PS: Haven't heard from Red at all lately, and AtWork is frantically burning up her last day of computer access on grisly piercing issues in the mislabelled "Street racing" thread.(exits, stage right, still muttering...)
I'm still here. Things have just been busy lately, but I still check this forum. Yes, we should have another meet. How about a meet where we can work on our vehicles? Like a "squeak and rattle meet" in preparation for the winter? I can look into bringing stuff like flocking tape and butyl patches. For instance, I have this intermittent rattle in my door that is driving me mad; someone suggested it's the speaker wire harness and it sounds just like connectors from two wire harnesses rubbing up against one another. There's also another rattle from the IP or centre console which may be different from the dash rattle that everyone talks about. I think my rear seats are rattling once in a while too. Just haven't had time to look up disassembly instructions and work on any of these yet.As it gets colder, all these rattles are just going to get worse. But, I know I'm a bit more sensitive to squeaks and rattles than most people. So this might not be the most interesting thing to everyone. If all that sounds too ambitious, we can just meet at some Tim Horton's somewhere and have Timbits. As long as we have a convoy at the end, I'll be happy. If anyone has any other suggestions, please post them and get this meet going!
Ok so who is up for the run to KK on wedesday?I have never been there so it is about time that I saw it in person. anyone else up for it?I would also be in for the squeek and rattle meet, got a few that I would like some help with (ie the dash rattles when the car is in lift)
I agree with the little squeak and rattle meet, I have a few and I have a few suggestions that have worked for me so far so yeah lets get something like that going can't wait to see MAD BILLS next mod....Trocar.... you and the wife, we have to get together and go for coffee sometime soon.....T
If there is interest, we should all hook up for a fall run into the northern country to check out the fall colours.OK not really interested in the colours, but any excuse for a road trip is a good one i my books
quote:...yeah lets get something like that going can't wait to see MAD BILLS next mod....TTo illustrate that I need a kick in the pants to get going Tim, I was THIS close to having my next mod* completed for our last gathering in August, and in the ensuing months I still haven't finished it! I'm going to pretend we have a Fall Colours Tour coming up within two weeks, maybe that will get me off of dead center.... * (Actually, I have one small one complete and another in progress, as well as 95% completion on the bigger one.)
If we are going to do anything like this, i suggest that we would do it before the snow flies. I just think that MAD BILL's car would mot be the same if he doesn't have the steam roller tires on his car.(Bill, firgive me if you are planning on leaving those huge wheels on your vibe for the winter)
Don't tell me I'm the only one from K-W. I see lots of Vibes around town, so I was hoping some of the owners would be on here too. Being as it would be nice to discuss and exmine some mods in person. O Well, at least I know now that there are a few Genvibers within an hour away. Thats a start and, nice to meet you.

(Besides, my mystery mod is dependent on Summer rubber.)
that sounds like a great Idea and I'm going to try getting there.... not promising last time I did that I didn't make it and well we all know what that is like.... shouldn't be an issue however the possibility of me having to work then is rather high. I may just get lucky though. lets all hope!
QUOTE]I'd do Port Perry (hello Casino! ) or Peterborough, whatever. Will have to show you the new lookin' Vibe .. End of October sounds good, but may I suggest you all come to the month-end meet at Kennedy Commons in Scarborough on the last Saturday of this month .. - last time we had 12 Matrix (and my lone Vibe..) , there's a great turnout, It would be nice to see all the cars together ..Would this be acceptable to all ? I know it's a bit far for some, but it'd be nice to get 20 cars together (Trix and Vibe) and show those Toyota boys we can get some cars out...[/QUOTE]Either Port Perry or Peterborough would be great (Peterborough has a casino too, for those of us that are into paying voluntary taxes ) but I'm up for Scarberia, if the majority prefers.
Oops! Must have missed part of your post. Forgot that was the Kennedy date! Since that date and location is already set and it's just a matter of whether there will be a group Vibe contingent, I guess it makes sense to just hit the Kennedy affair. [Besides, the last one was out in the boonies. Right, Tim? ] This way too it's a little closer for London, K-W, etc. (and Montreal/Ottawa is such a long hike, it doesn't matter much within ~100 km where we pick!Any other votes/comments?
Alrighty - so it sounds like the 25th at Kennedy Commons -- am I correct? And if so - can someone be kind to those of us from out-of-town and post directions on how to actually get to this place?

Guess that's about, what -30 min from Oshawa? (15 if you and/or AtWork lead the charge!) Where/when should we meet? Maybe that strip mall with the burger joint on the NE corner of Bloor & Park? Does Roundup live in or just work in Oshawa?
Count me in, sounds good to all go together. (Bill and Tim ) We will make arrangements for a place in the area to meet and go in together. Along with anyone else from the area that would like to join us
Well, I have been busy helping out my local MPP get re-elected and was unable to get out to meet with you guys. However, being in the position that I am in, I don't get the time to "hang out" the way I would like to.

I will try to make it. I just work in Oshawa. I will probably be coming from downtown so I will meet you guys there (as long as you promise not to laugh at my one and only mod. )Since we are meeting at night, I guess we will have to save our squeak and rattle issues for some time later. By the way Bill, are you going to advertise this thing at work? I notice more and more Vibes in our lots every week. Who knows, maybe we have a S/C in our fleet already. I will try to call you at work on Tues.
sounds good,,, I think the Mr. Burger at park and bloor will do just fine..... no worries I'll take it easy on the way in. wouldn't want to put anyone to shame.... lol

the reason this is 8 is Toyota Nation meets at 8 and we are trying to out number the Matrix.... no worries about the squeaks and rattles, there is a lot of light in the parking lot shouldn't be that much of an issue.....

I should be able to go back in the site archives and find it again, print it off and update the time and location...PS: Great shade on your dart, RoundUp!
WOW tim, you are sooo good to us by taking it easy on us during the run into KC. That is good to hear because I would really hate to have to hit lift and show you up.LOLThe Mr. Burger would be a good spot to meet, since it tis a saturday, why don't we plan on getting a bite to eat there and then run in. 6:00 - 6:30ish would leave us enought time (Even if Tim takes it easy on us)
The meet will be in scarborough on the 25th of October at 8 PM @ Kennedy Commons which is located at the 401 and Kennedy Road. Big parking lot so look around for the Vibes and Matrix Hope to see you there!
I will try my best! Wanna surprise my wifes' family in Georgetown and then swing by for the meet......I know I have no business trips THAT week, just gotta see my wifes' schedule.Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Just found this site today. Can a regular soccer-Mom Vibe owner join the meet, or do I have to modify it first ??? [My definition of Modifications is moving the booster seat from the front to the back !]My son and I [and the bank] were one of the first Vibe owners in the Province. [May 2002]. It's been all over the eastern seaboard and get's alot of attention in small towns ! And I'm still glad I chose it.Just curious, do any other Vibe owners think their odometer is running a tad, let's say exagerated ? Have you ever tried it over the same distance as someone in any other car and found the Vibe to clock more KM's than theirs ? Let me know your thoughts.
Also in South Mississauga. Will let you know presently if we can make it on the 25th. Will you be going for burgers at a kid friendly place ?Car Wash ? what that ? I still have Sauble Beach sand in my mats ! I spend my weekends camping not cleaning! It was Salsa at one time, with grey trim. Will have to learn how to post pics. I'm still on a horse and buggy riding this information highway.Extras ? Didn't order any but apparently got alot. Must have been my child charming up the dealership guys. Incidentally, my lighter compartment fell out last weekend camping in Killbear. I see that I'm not the first Vibe owner to experience this. Does anyone know how to post into the General discussion list or are we limited to Ontario ? Do we get invited to the US Meets ?Still curious,
Welcome to the forum, LoveToCamp. I don't have any mods except for the reflective sticker that I stuck over my Pontiac symbol in the back. So don't worry at all. People will just be happy that you made it.
No worries LOVE TO CAMP come on out and join the fun, you know you mentioned the Odometer seeming like it clocks more.... I agree with you there..... I too was one of the first to have the car (April 2002) and right now I have almost 80K's on it,,, great car wouldn't trade it for the world..... Hope to meet you at the commons on the 25th...
