Hey Vibe-iacsI am almost ready to buy a new Vibe and found an independant dealer in Florida with a used '03 Base Salsa 5-speed Steel wheels Power group with 11,000 miles. He claims its a bank repo. I can probably negotiate a price in the $10,500 range.Would this be worth considering?Craig
Yes, I'd go for that. But first, I'd run the VIN through CarFax...Also, a quick, easy and free way to check to see if it's ever been wrecked and had a door replaced...check each door for a sticker with the VIN on it, even the rear hatch. I suppose if they wanted to be sneaky, they could put the sticker on the new door, but most body shops don't bother. But I'd still do the CarFax thing, definitely. You never know.
Sounds like a great price to me.If you do get it, probably worth doing all of the scheduled maintenance that it might have missed as soon as you get it. If the previous owner couldn't afford payments, maybe they couldn't afford maintenance either. If they did get a dealer to do maintenance, if you pass the VIN to someone like Hot Vibe, he may be able to find out the service history for you.
I bought a used vibe a almost a year ago. I dont regret it a bit. Since it has so few miles, it should be in good enough shape that it is a GM certified used vehicle, which extends the warranty to 39,000 miles. I would do it again in a heart beat. IT was the first time that I ever bought a car that I didn't feel completely ripped off
