GEM electric car

Post by pmh013 »

I just came back from an engineering conference in Fargo, ND. We made a stop at GEM for a tour. They make neighbourhood electric vehicles. I thought they were pretty neat looking, and thought some of you folks might too. I wish I lived in a climate where I could drive one all year round! http://www.gemcar.com/

quote:Those are great looking vehicles. A Golf Cart with a Edge. That's what I thought when we pulled into the parking lot, and there were a couple outside. But they are not built with golf cart components. I forget which is which, but if a golf cart is front wheel drive, the GEM is rear wheel drive. They do have a "golf bag carrier" accessory though, which I found on the website.

The cops here use those! Light bars and everything, everytime I see them in it snooping around or pulling someone over I wanna go tip it over when they aren't looking.

I don't think they'd be very successful in a high-speed chase! I think they only have a top speed of 35 or 40 MPH. I did see one in the "finished" area that said Ambulance... it was set up with the long box, so I guess that's where the patient went. Hope you're not hurt that bad! I think it was going to Thailand, it was written on the windshield.
