I just repaired the lights on the display of the radio in my vibe and it went well. My sister lived in another state and her vibe has the same issue. I tried local yards for vibes and none have any. what I want to do is find the faceplate, and the circuit behind it that holds the bulbs. I don't need anything else. Her numbers are wearing off on her faceplate that's the only reason I want it. My thought is to repair the bulbs on the circuit, then send it and the faceplate to her in the mail so she can swap them out and no longer deal with the issue of a burnt display.
do any other cars beside the vibe and matrix share the same radio?

The 2003-2008 Vibe and 2003-2004 Matrix shared the same radios.
Pontiac did use similar radios in the 00's on other models but they had significant differences electronically. It sounds like you don't care about the guts of the radio so that shouldn't be an issue.
The radios in the "real" Pontiacs used data coming across the bus to determine if the vehicle the radio was installed in was the same VIN as the radio was programmed for, otherwise it would be locked. The Vibe's were a "dumbed down" version so to speak as there wasn't the bus connection present The Vibe's radios didn't really care what vehicle they were plugged into, they would work regardless.
I did a quick google search and the radio out of an Aztek looks very similar though the buttons are grey instead of black. I don't have a way to compare measurements so I can only say it "looks" similar.
So if you just want the faceplate, maybe search for various Pontiac models produced in the same year and see if you can find a match.

As long as all you want is the bulb and face plate all the 2 DIN radio's in Pontiac's are the same. But you CAN NOT put a regular Pontiac radio into the Vibe it will not work. The Vibe has the Toyota wiring in it and won't have the VIN ID wire in it. So the radio wont work. You can put any Vibe radio into any Pontiac because they don't require the VIN ID to work. They have the Light on them like regular Pontiac radios but don't mean any thing.
