This could be bad.....

Post by scottprice »

gey guys, new to the forum. I drive a 2003 Vibe Gt...sweet little car. Fits all my gear, lots of room, great milage....ive even had a few deer in the back!

Anyway....

For the last few weeks ive have a clunk in my right front. I would notice it especially when i would come to a stop as im back out of a parking spot. (as im hitting my brakes in reverse)....Now in the last day or so i developed what sounds similat to a worn CV joint click, but has more of a grind sound, again, right front....FInally, today im coming down my nicely paved driveway, coasting, out of gear, and a loud thud/clunk in the right front end happens. Immediately when this happens its like i jammed my brakes on, but my foot wasnt on the brake pedal. i parked the car and got my friend to follow me a mile to our barn...weird part is, after it was parked for a few minutes, the locked brakes were not a problem...

obviously something is up...i am bringing it to the garage thursday....any ideas what it would be in the mean time?

maybe a brake pad that broke in half? calipers? ...keep in mind its only the right side

Bearing, axle/CV, ball joint, tie rod end. Probably nothing huge.

Get down and look under there with a flashlight.
