I can't seem to find the Vibe with all the stuff I want on it, I really want one with no power, no sunroof, just barebones. I will have an alarm and remote added afterwards. I cannot find out anywhere, I have never found one anywhere without a sunroof or atleast without power. Do they make them in that combo? Thanks.
You'll be sorry if you don't get the power package. It's more than just remotes for the door locks, it's power windows, cruise control and a dash button to pop the rear hatch glass. It's only a $600 option (at least it was on my '03).

I'm shocked to be hearing someone say they want a vibe WITHOUT power...that's nuts IMHO..but you need to decide -- if you want the car that bad, you might have to settle for a vibe WITH power...not a horrid thing I'd say!
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
Yes, That's my reason. I don't need luxury, my Sunfire's power windows suck and the motors are broke and will roll down, but not up. Alot of GM vehicles have this problem. I did not know power package included cruise control - I need that. If there is no dash button for the rear hatch, Where is it then? Thanks.

Personally, I've never had a problem with a power option until the mysterious window issue on this car. Would not give up power for ANYTHING!quote:I did not know power package included cruise control - I need that. Well, there ya go. Might make your decision for ya. quote:If there is no dash button for the rear hatch, Where is it then? Thanks.Without power, you can only use the key to open the hatch glass. There is no remote release for it. Note that the button on the dash released the GLASS, and not the door itself.

Let me tell you that when the dealer told me 0% financing, I friggin ordered the power package and do not regret it! And yeah knowing they are Toyota parts was the clincher

To unlock the rear hatch you use the power unlock button on the door if you have the power package. If you don't have the power package, the only way to open the rear glass or unlock the rear hatch and 4-doors is manually with a key.quote:And the dealer can put cruise on at your descression. And for how much? I'll bet it's close to $300 (remember, this is a dealer we're talking about) which is half the cost of the entire factory power package.
When I was looking for my vibe, there was a base Vibe (in Silver two-tone), no power, no moon, 5-speed - as basic as they come (and cheap). I was actually considering it (for one very brief moment) because it was on '04 and had the better dash lights. But then I drove the GT and never looked back.
Sounds like Power is a good investment, I totally forgot the Toyota part things. I think I'll go for it. I don't want to pay over 1k for a sunroof though, Which I have yet to find a Vibe without that package!
Your dealer should be able to locate a car for you that has all the things that you want or don't want on it. They will try to sell you one on the lot first, but don't back down if it is what you want. I got pretty lucky, I got almost the exact vibe I was looking for 25 miles away from my house. I wanted ABS but this one didn't have it. Figured it wasn't too important so I took it. Happy hunting.
If you can take the time, my opinion is to factory order. This way you can get exactly what you want, and also it is the only way to really compare prices between dealers since your are actually comparing the exact same car.
I love that signature - now when I am dealing with a contentious lawyer I add to the bottom of my ATTORNEY AT LAW letterhead "99% of lawyers give the rest of us a bad name."

I think it only comes as part of the "power package". I think both http://www.kbb.com and http://www.edmunds.com would have the compolete pricing information on the 2004 Vibe.

I must be the only one in Canada to get the vibe I wanted. (almost) When we decided to buy we dealt with the fleet sales guy (enterprise connection) and he doesn't work on commision so he worked his a** off for us dealer trading til he found the one we wanted. We didn't really want the safety and security package that it had so he took it off the price. (he found 16 vibes in ontario for us til we got the one we wanted) Guess he also worked hard for us since my company (at the time) just bought almost a hundred vehicles from him.
When we were buying our '04 Salsa Vibe in August, we almost bought a Satellite base model with no power which the dealer had on the lot, or a loaded Neptune with moon roof, etc. At the last miniute I pushed for what we wanted: power & Salsa, with no moon roof. The dealer scrambled & found it in Nova Scotia - we had it in three days. The only thing I couldn't get was the lighter colour interior.Re: the power - think about resale value, too. Not that I want to sell!We LOVE our Vibe. This car is SO much fun to drive, meets our weird space needs, and still rare in our area, so the novelty is a kick.
I got my 2003 Vibe this past August. There is a dealer across the river in Wisconsin that has a "No-Hassle No-Negotiation Policy." I went there to test drive a vibe. I took a base model out for a spin. I decided I liked the Vibe, but not the base model: no guts and with that soft suspension and those weak tires I almost lost it on an exit ramp. Anyway, I went back and told the dealer I wanted a 2003 GT with power, the Nav system, and the 17" high performance tires. He found one way up north of the Twin Cities, which is over 200 miles away. But that was what I wanted, so he sent a guy up there to get the car and 2 days later it was mine!I guess the point is if you a firm about what you want, you should get it. Every dealer has access to computerized inventory of other dealers for miles around. If it exists, they should find it for you
