New Vibe

Post by cjnoyes »

Hi Guys,

I just bought an '03 base vibe with 124K on it. I already changed the O ring in the timing chain tensioner, which stopped a small oil leak. I am wondering what else you would recommend I do to the car as far as preventative maintenance goes.

Welcome to GenVibe, cj!
That's a low mileage vibe you got. There is a good chance that the car has never received attention to the following items:
coolant flush/change: Use Toyota coolant or coolant designated for Asian vehicles only. No GM Dexcool!!!! Back-flush the heater core.
Automatic transmission fluid: do it with Toyota T IV ATF
Brake fluid: have it completely replaced.
Cabin air filter: some people don't even know their cars have one.
