*Out of Curiosity*If you could change the Vibe name to something else, what would it be?What would YOU have named the colors of the Vibe if they asked when they had the naming contest?
I like the name "Vibe." I wouldn't want to change it at all. I like the color names, too. Although everybody for some odd reason thinks Neptune is green..?
hmm, I was suprised Pontiac didn't stick with their prefixes and suffixes on this one, i.e. Sun, Trans, Fire, Am, Grand, and Bird. Pontiac is kind of a Native American themed car company I thought, hence the lettering and names. Aztek, Montana, Sunfire, Firebird, Trans Am, Grand Prix and Am, plus the Bonneville, then out of nowhere..."Vibe" hmm I would have named it something cool like "Tomahawk" lol, maybe corny but I like it.

quote:I think blue shoulda been something more, well, blue sounding.Neptune is blue! Although I don't think many people know that as maybe once thought - I had to double-check myself!

Pontiac used the "out of nowhere" name Vibe because the Vibe is unlike any other Pontiac. A unique name for a unique car.
That's what I kind of thought, but I mean if the Vibe is unique enogh, What the you label the Aztek as? Aztek would have been a cool name for it too. I like Neptune as a color name.Did anyone join in on the color naming contest when it was held?
quote:Neptune is a cool name for blue. I think they did a really good job picking unique names for all of the colors on the Vibe. Is anyone old enough to remember the original colors of the Ford Maverick? I remember that one was called "Thanks Vermillion" Other Maverick colors had similar names.

Yes, the 1970 Maverick colors did have wild names. But that was only in '70 as the 1971 colors had more traditional names.1970 Maverick colors were:Anti-Establish MintHulla BlueOriginal CinnamonFreudian GiltThanks VermillionCandyapple RedBlack JadeChampagne GoldGulfstream AquaMeadowlark YellowBrittany BlueLime GoldDresden BlueRaven BlackWimbledon White
