Question about CAI

Post by Merzbow »

I don't have a CAI yet and wont get one until the stupid warentee expires in July of 2005, but just so I know, where do you put those pressure, and temperature censors that are bolted into the stock intake? That has been bugging me.

yeah I know it doesn't void the warentee, the thing is that my mom is a complete dumbass and underestimates my knowledge of cars, therefore refuses to let me, thus denying my purchase of a CAI....Now, she never looks under the hood so I will ge (removed) eventually but I am getting exhaust first.

well to answer your question, there is a spot designated for the mass air flow sensor. just basically screw it in.

"...Besides, they put them on big trucks, and they last hundred of thousands of miles..." (My impeccable logic didn't work worth a s**t)

you shouldn't call your mother a dumbass, she bought you a car worth almost 20,00 bucks, if she made you paint it pink, she would be justified, it's technically hers.

Stop the insanity!
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

Don't bite the hand that feeds you is a really good saying in this instance. She may not know that you know so much about cars and she probably doesn't want to risk anything happening to the Vibe.

BAH, when ever something bad happens to it, or it needs something it is my responsibility, but when she is showing it off to people or when she is mad at me it is her car....I will gladly do anything it takes to keep it up and make it look and run perfectly, but I just hate how she operates, and how stubborn she is. Besides the fact I don't know of anything else worth spending my money on, since I love cars more than anything. Plus I am fully anticipating on buying the Vibe from her when I get money no matter how long it takes so....

I think you should respect the fact that you are 16 and you get to drive a brand new car. Damn, when I was 16 I had to buy my own car and pay my own insurance which was in my name and not my parents. You kids don't understand how good you have it and then when mommy says no, all of a sudden she's a f#cking b@itch. I just don't get it.

Hey, I was all ready saving up for MY OWN '88 Monte Carlo last July I already had about a grand saved towards the 3 grand it cost and I got insurance quotes and everything. I am extremely appriciative that she lets me use the car....She just showed up at my dad's house one night with it as a surprise. I had all intensions of buying my own car. Its similar to having someone else's baby, they can take it away when ever they want to no matter how attatched to it you've become. And I know I have it good, I never said I didn't Im not like every other kid that takes everything for granted, I just wish I had more freedom with the car thats all...

Lol i wish i had a free vibe. I think GM should have some better accomodations for their perferred customers. I've had 2 before the Vibe, i wonder how many untill we get a free GM Hey Merzbow, if you got the vibe for free why not keep saving your cash for the Monte Carlo? If your mom doesnt want you to void the warrenty of the car she pays for, then you can get the Carlo as a project to do whatever your hear desires to do to it

Why not make payments monthly to your Mom- to if nothing else help with the car payment and get her respect, showing that you want to help pay for the car, and maybe eventually she will come around and let you do as you wish with the Vibe-

I am really sorry about that, you are completely right, I do respect her, thats why I do not do drugs or drink or anything stupid like that....And I don't hate her, and I also know her descisions are for my own good, but they are rediculous. I don't see how not letting me get CAI or Exhaust has anything to do with my well being though.....

quote:jeeze, take it easy on him man, he's just a wee lad, he never said he hated her...maybe I'm geeting the wrong impression here, but when I read posts like this:quote:Well looks like I can't make this rally either...this is getting rediculous, I hate my mom "uhhh its in the middle of corn fields and you dont know anyone thats going" I don't think I'll be able to go to one of these meets for another 2 damn years. Have fun guys.and this:quote:I swear on my life im goingto kill my mother. She got me excited when she hinted I could go but of course now she shatters my dreams "too far away i dont know anyone there blah blah blah" I gues I'll try to make it to another one if there are any closer ones...Have fun guysI just tend to think he doesn't have a lot of respect for the mom. My apologies if I started anything earlier, I was just giving my 2 cents.

My pennies worth. Must agree with most of the other here..... You should consider yourself lucky that you got a new car to drive. I had to borrow my moms 79 Chevette to cruise in.... There may be a number of reasons your mom does not want you to mod the car and speaking from experience they do not like it when you do stuff you were told not to do..... Trying to do stuff behind others backs tends to bite you on the a$$ when you least expect it..... enjoy the car the way it is for now..... when you pay for it (repay mom) then go to town.... Maybe she is trying to teach you that some things are more inportant than moding your car. Why not take all the cahs you seem to have lying around trying to find stuff to buy and pay back your mom for the car.Just wonder but from your one post I got the impression your parents are not together any longer. If so that may explain why she decided to buy you a car and insists on controlling it..... (you do not have to answer but i have some exerinece in these types of senarios from my work...)Again enjoy the car...... there a blast just the way they are but I will be moding mine as soon as I save some cash......... have things like insurance, morgage, bills, food etc that come first..

Yes, they are divorced. Apparently my dad got sick of her also. All I remember is my mom yelling at my dad...never the other way around....just to reinforce the fact that my mom is a *****. Anyhow...where do you work?
