Engine support bar placement

Post by RDUNick »

Forgive me if I'm repeating a thread posted elsewhere. I did a forum search and did not uncover anything on the subject.

Can anyone that has used an engine support bar before on the Vibe confirm for me where the support feet should be placed?

According to the one page instructions, that came with the one I ordered, they should go "in the drains round the engine." I have placed them at the widest part of what I am assuming is the drains. This would be where the hood hinges are located but this seems a bit far back on the engine.

If I move the support forward then the "drain" width seems a bit narrow for being used to support an engine.

Cheers!

Place them as far apart as you can on the inside of the hood jam.

I appreciate the response gtv237.

Here's a shot of how the one I have looks. I'm concerned about the lack of space for that foot on the jamb.
