Starter

Are all starters compatible with the 1.8, I have a 06 GT and I think my starter is on its way out.

From what I can tell, the starter I bought from NAPA for my 04 base would also fit the GT.

According to www.car-part.com and www.rockauto.com they do not specify different starters for the base or GT models, so I would think they are the same. Actually they are the same between the Vibe, Matrix and Corolla if you are looking at used.

So would it be safe to say that the corolla would have the same starter.

Yes. Just look on car-part.com and it shows lots of Corolla, Vibe and Matrix starters available.
