Injen RD2082p on a 2003 GT

Post by treesleavedents »

So I picked up the Injen RD2082p CAI and am currently typing with filthy hands as I try to install it. Did I mess up and buy the wrong intake? This one comes with a large vacuum line port in the intake before the MAF and the instructions tell me to route the hose to some resonator box that's in front of the drivers side wheel well. However my Vibe doesn't have that... Is this the whole 2003 not having the extra air pump thingy? Do I need to return the intake? Will it work? Gahhhhh! Help!

Here's some pics of the 2 vacuum lines that are now attached to nothing... the larger one is one I've seen in other instal videos attaching to a 3/8ths nipple near the MAF sensor on the Injen intake, but my intake doesn't have that nipple.

The smaller line that you can't see the end of is normally attached to that T-split. But Injen asks you to cap the T-split. Not sure why but I did it and now the longer hose is just flopping around like some poor decapitated elephant trunk...

You did get the wrong one. That's for a 2005-2006 Corolla XRS. It may work with your car with some changes to the vacuum lines, however. Try using some brass plumbing fittings to change the sizes of the hoses and stuff.

Right now I have the large vacuum line slipped over the 3/8ths vacuum line. It seems to work well enough. No CEL or anything, but it does idle at 500 rpm instead of the 800 rpm it idled at before.

I emailed the Amazon seller last night asking if I could swap the RD2082p for the RD2075p that they also carry. Just figured I'd check with you guys to double check that that's the correct one. The RD2075p is for the 02-03 matrix xrs, that should work for me right?

RD2075p

Says it fits 02-03 Vibe GT also. LOL! If it were half the price or so I might try one too.

They're on amazon for $220 so I figure that's not too bad. I mean hell I spent close to $1,200 on the PPE exhaust. Header with the spiked collector, midpipe with the resonator and high flow cat. All done in Stainless.
