New here, 03 GT (Maryland)

Post by ZenVibe »

Been lurking for a while, thought I'd make it official :-)
Love my '03 GT! Only had her 2 years, but they've been a heck of a lot of fun. Not sure if I'll be able to keep her much longer (having knee issues which makes driving a clutch uncomfortable) but for now we're having a blast. Love to see the other Vibes out there; still haven't seen another 1stGen GT in my area, though...

Welcome. I never see any MKI GTs where I live, either. It's a lonely pedestal looking down on all these base Vibes.... :(

Welcome to GenVibe :D Glad you finally joined up with us. I too have the GT with a manual transmission and wonder that some decade (yes I'll own this car 20+ years & then some) if my knees start to give out on me that I may have to go to an automatic, heaven forbid, in order to continue driving. Get involved here and visit often.

Welcome! Nice GT you got there. I know what you mean about the knee, as I've had a few issues myself, but luckily mostly with my right knee, and not my clutch knee! I don't know what I'd do if I HAD to drive an auto all the time. There is just something missing to me when I drive autos.

Good luck with it and the knee problems!

Thanks to all for the warm welcome! It's great to know that there's so many other folks out there who love these wonderful vehicles.

My son is still talking about last February, when we had a sudden nasty winter storm, and traffic everywhere came to a standstill. He had a medical issue which necessitated a trip to the hospital (20-mile drive), but he swore that my little Vibe would never get us there. A white-knuckled hour later, I happily proved him wrong. Even with standard all-season tires, the GT took us steadily past all the spinning-out and abandoned cars all over the Baltimore beltway to our destination. The clutch (and my vocabulary) got quite a workout that night, but both the car and my son were fine the next day. Viva la Vibe!
